Introduction
The system is composed of WDJD-3 multi-function digital DC induced polarization instrument as the main control host, and WDZJ-3 multi-channel electrode converter developed by our institute. The system has the characteristics of large storage capacity, accurate and fast measurement, and convenient operation. It can be easily used with the commonly used high-density electrical method processing software in China, making the interpretation work more convenient and intuitive. The system can be widely used in energy exploration and urban geophysical exploration, railway and bridge exploration, metal and non-metallic mineral resource exploration, etc. It can also be used in hydrological and engineering geological exploration such as finding groundwater, determining the location of hidden dangers in reservoir dam foundations and flood control embankments, and geothermal exploration.
The technique is extremely useful for investigations of important sites to get information on weak zones or buried channels, under the rock interface, which goes undetected in seismic refraction, which terminated at rock interface. Resistivity imaging can also be effectively used to determine rock profile along dam axis across high current shallow rivers where deployment of hydrophones is not possible restricting use of seismic refraction. For deep penetration seismic refraction techniques requires use of explosives, which are not always feasible to deploy especially in sensitive areas. In such cases resistivity imaging can be effectively used to get detailed information of deeper layers.

What is a multi-channel electrode converter?
The Multi-channel electrode converter is a device involved in geophysical high-density electrical exploration. It consists of an adjustment dial, pole spacing adjustment holes, electrode arrangement switches, etc. This converter solves the problem of high-density measurement of ordinary electrical instruments, replaces manual pole running, and realizes rapid electrode conversion. Specifically, the multi-channel electrode converter can realize rapid conversion of sixty electrodes, supports four arrangement conversions: Wenner, dipole, differential, and joint profile, and each arrangement can perform fifteen pole spacing changes. This enables the multi-channel electrode converter to obtain 540 information points and 1080 data points, greatly improving work efficiency and measurement accuracy. In addition, by controlling the power supply and measurement status of each electrode in the electrode system through cables, the multi-channel electrode converter only takes one second to change the measurement point each time, greatly saving manpower, material resources and time, and improving work efficiency by dozens of times. At the same time, it also improves the accuracy and quality of ordinary electrical measurements.
