Insertion-type Ultrasonic Flow Meter
Model: HDLCSL-5C Principle of Insertion-type Ultrasonic Flow Meter:
The ultrasonic flow meter operates on the principle of low-voltage, multi-pulse time difference. It utilizes high-precision and ultra-stable dual-balanced signal differential transmission to measure the transit time of ultrasonic waves in the downstream and upstream directions. The flow velocity is calculated based on the time difference. When ultrasonic beams propagate through a liquid, the flow of the liquid causes a slight change in the transit time. The change in transit time is proportional to the flow velocity of the liquid. Under zero-flow conditions, the time required for the two sensors to transmit and receive ultrasonic waves is exactly the same. Features of Insertion-type Ultrasonic Flow Meter:
a. Flow velocity range: 0.04–32 m/s
b. Pipe diameter: φ65 mm–φ3000 mm
c. Pressure range: ≤1.6 MPa
d. Accuracy: 1% FS (can achieve 0.5% after calibration)
e. Power supply: DC 12V–36V or AC 220V
f. Output: 4–20 mA DC (1.2 kΩ), pulse (configurable), RS232/485 interface
g. Operating temperature: ≤120°C
h. Protection rating: IP65
i. Explosion-proof rating: EXdⅡBT4
j. Other functions: Can record cumulative flow and operating status for the past 64 days, 64 months, or 5 years; records the last 64 power-on/off events and corresponding flow data; supports automatic or manual flow replenishment. Measured Media for Insertion-type Ultrasonic Flow Meter:
Capable of measuring conductive or non-conductive homogeneous liquids, such as deionized water, seawater, acids, alkalis, edible oil, gasoline, kerosene, diesel, machine oil, alcohol, beer, and other homogeneous liquids that can transmit ultrasonic waves. Insertion-type Sensor:
The insertion-type sensor involves drilling a hole into the pipeline while it is in operation, using specialized tools, to allow the sensor to contact the measured medium for flow measurement. This type of sensor addresses issues such as difficulty in receiving signals or signal attenuation over time when using external clamp-on sensors on heavily scaled pipes. It features non-stop installation, maintenance-free operation, independence from pipe diameter, and no pressure loss.

- 1.The insertion-type design is ideal for measuring pipelines with thick scaling on the inner wall of large-diameter pipes, where external clamp-on sensors are ineffective.
- 2.Significant cost advantage: The price is independent of pipe diameter. For pipes larger than φ500mm, the cost is only a fraction of that of an electromagnetic flow meter.
- 3.Saves on transportation and installation costs.
- 4.Can be installed without interrupting flow; the manufacturer provides specialized drilling equipment and installation guidance.
- 5.Signal transmission and reception by the sensor are unaffected by adhesions, oil stains, or emulsions.
- 6.Low-voltage excitation of sensing elements ensures a long service life.
- 7.Capable of measuring bidirectional flow, with a minimum flow velocity of ≤0.05 mm/s.
- 8.The measured liquid can be conductive or non-conductive media.
- 9.Supports wireless fax functionality, transmitting measured data to the monitoring room via a wireless network.

b. Pipe diameter: φ65 mm–φ3000 mm
c. Pressure range: ≤1.6 MPa
d. Accuracy: 1% FS (can achieve 0.5% after calibration)
e. Power supply: DC 12V–36V or AC 220V
f. Output: 4–20 mA DC (1.2 kΩ), pulse (configurable), RS232/485 interface
g. Operating temperature: ≤120°C
