1. Peeled round steel is a high-quality cylindrical steel product processed by mechanical peeling on the basis of hot-rolled or cold-drawn round steel blanks. The peeling process uses a special lathe to remove the outer layer (usually 0.5-3mm thick) of the blank, which effectively eliminates surface defects such as scale, cracks, and decarburization layers. This treatment gives it outstanding surface quality—its outer surface is smooth and uniform, with a roughness (Ra) generally controlled below 1.6μm, and dimensional accuracy is further improved, with diameter tolerance up to ±0.01mm in high-precision grades.

In the bearing industry, it is used to manufacture bearing rings and rolling elements, as its smooth surface reduces friction and wear during bearing operation. In the hydraulic and pneumatic industry, it serves as raw material for precision hydraulic cylinders and piston rods, ensuring tight fitting with seals and preventing oil leakage. It is also applied in the production of high-precision shafts for aerospace and medical equipment, where its defect-free surface and stable mechanical properties guarantee the reliability of critical parts.
