From the supplier
1. Cold-drawn round steel is a high-precision cylindrical steel product processed by cold drawing—on the basis of hot-rolled round steel blanks, it is pulled through a die at room temperature without heating. This process gives it distinct advantages: its outer surface is smooth and free of defects like scale, with diameter tolerance controlled within a narrow range (usually ±0.02mm) and high coaxiality. Meanwhile, cold working enhances its mechanical properties, making its surface hardness (often reaching HRC25-40) and tensile strength significantly higher than hot-rolled round steel, while maintaining good ductility for subsequent machining.
2. Widely used in fields requiring high precision and strength, cold-drawn round steel is a key raw material for small and medium-sized mechanical parts. In the automotive industry, it is processed into components like valve stems, connecting rod pins, and bearing sleeves that demand tight dimensional accuracy. In precision instrumentation and electronic equipment, it serves as shafts, guide rods, and fasteners, as its smooth surface reduces friction and ensures stable operation. It is also applied in making hydraulic parts and hardware tools, where its combination of precision, strength, and machinability effectively improves the performance and service life of finished products.
