Potassium dihydrogen phosphate is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula KH2PO4. It has deliquescence and will melt into a transparent liquid when heated to 400 ℃. After cooling, it solidifies into opaque glassy potassium metaphosphate. Stable in air, soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol. In industry, it is used as a buffer and culture agent, as well as a seasoning for synthesizing sake as a bacterial culture agent. It is also used as a raw material for the production of potassium metaphosphate, which is a culture agent, fortifier, fermenting agent, and fermentation aid for brewing yeast. In agriculture, it is used as an efficient phosphate potassium compound fertilizer.
