The process of metal hollowing (photo etching) into Translucent Enamel Color is inspired by the painted Windows of European Goethe churches. Gothic Stained Glass Windows are an important feature of Gothic architecture in Europe, especially cathedrals and churches built from the 12th to 16th centuries. In Roman times, French churches used stained glass, while Goethe churches had much larger Windows that eventually filled the entire wall.

Painted Windows are particularly important in Goethe churches, the most famous being Chartres Cathedral. Their function is to fill the interior with mystical colored lights that represent the Holy Spirit, while also illustrating the story of the Bible for the mostly illiterate congregation. Over the years of the Goethe period, the painted Windows became larger and larger, allowing more light to enter through the grated glass, and the details on the painted glass became more elaborate, gradually resembling paintings.

Metal Hollowing into Translucent Enamel Color

1. The process of metal hollowing into Translucent Enamel Color is also called “window into coloring” which is inspired by the painted Windows of European Goethe church. It is mainly used in the production of biting bookmarks, window key rings and floor empty ornaments. We drop the resin pigment with the adjusted color and curing agent on the surface of the metal products and wait for it to dry naturally or by drying in the oven. Here's how this process is made:

Mould Tooling → photo Etchinvg/Die cutting → Color Filling (Translucent Color Enamel/ Soft Enamel) → drying (barbecue)

→ Grinding stone → Soldering Attachment → electroplating → polishing

2. The process of metal hollowing into Translucent Enamel Color is "Transparent Color paste", that is, "Imitation Hard Enamel w/o polishing w/o grinding";. Manufacturers in East China, also known as "dropping oil color process". The two processes are very similar, but not identical. And because 2D and 3D color entry methods are different, this process has developed: 2D plane single-color process, 3D Cubic Single-Color process and 3D Cubic 2 Mixed-Colors process.

Translucent color design of key rings or pendants are made of zinc alloy, when at the stage of mold opening, we will make the outer shape as recess metal or hollow metal per customer's requirements. (1) Flower Heart: Filling into Soft Enamel into the recess metal, it means it is w/o hollowing and it ns we can see the metal side from the back of the key ring.

(2) Flower Petals & Flower Leaves: Filling the translucent color enamel into the hollowing and we can see the empty hollow from the front side.

002 2D Brass Photo Etching Translucent Color Enamel ( 1 single-Color) ~ Bookmarks, Hangings, Pendant

Translucent color design for photo etching of bookmarks or pendants are made of brass after corrosion production. This corrosion process will etch the brass sheet into two forms: recessed metal and etching through (hollowing). Please kindly take look at the sample of this bookmark for production to illustrate:

(1) Yellow part: Filling into Soft Enamel into the recess metal, it means it is w/o hollowing and it ns we can see the metal side from the back of the key ring.

(2) Green part: Filling the translucent color enamel into the hollowing and we can see the empty hollow from the front side.
