1,4-Butanediol Diglycidyl Ether (BDDGE), CAS No. 2425-79-8, is a high-performance difunctional epoxy reactive diluent featuring a unique flexible long-chain structure. It combines comprehensive advantages including low viscosity, low volatility, high flexibility and eco-friendly low toxicity. Specially designed for epoxy resin systems, it is widely used in high-end coatings, adhesives, composite materials, electronic encapsulation and other fields.
1. Core Performance Features1) Ultra-low viscosity & high dilution efficiencyWith a viscosity of only 5–10 mPa·s at 25℃, it significantly reduces the viscosity of epoxy systems, improves application flow, lowers the dosage of high-viscosity resins and enhances operational efficiency.
2) Low shrinkage, low stress & high flexibilityThe flexible long-chain structure greatly reduces curing volume shrinkage and minimizes cracking and warping of finished products. The cured material exhibits excellent flexibility and bending resistance, balancing hardness and toughness, making it suitable for applications requiring high toughness.
3) Eco-friendly, low volatility & low odorExtremely low volatility with no VOC emissions during curing, creating a better working environment. It has low odor and low skin irritation, meeting environmental requirements for interior decoration, food contact and other applications.
4) Excellent reactivity & adhesionTwo epoxy groups participate in curing and crosslinking to form a dense network. It provides strong adhesion to substrates such as metals, glass, concrete and plastics, making it compatible with various base materials.
2. Main Application Fields1) Epoxy Coatings: solvent-free anti-corrosion coatings, floor coatings, electronic component encapsulation coatings, wind turbine blade coatings, to improve coating flexibility and corrosion resistance.
2) Adhesives / Sealants: structural adhesives, potting adhesives, laminating adhesives, to enhance bonding strength and flexibility for bonding metals, plastics, stone and other materials.
3) Composite Materials: glass fiber and carbon fiber reinforced composites used in wind turbine blades and aerospace components, to improve the mechanical properties of finished products.
4) Electronic Materials: printed circuit board (PCB) substrates and semiconductor encapsulation materials, providing excellent electrical insulation and heat resistance.
5) Crosslinking Agent: for crosslinking modification of polymer materials such as hyaluronic acid (HA) hydrogels and cellulose, used in the production of medical dressings and sustained-release materials.
