G.657.A2 optical fiber is a type of bend-insensitive single-mode optical fiber defined in the ITU-T G.657 standard, belonging to the B6 category of access network optical fibers. This optical fiber possesses all the basic characteristics of non-dispersion-shifted single-mode optical fibers, while significantly enhancing its bending resistance. It is suitable for transmission across the entire wavelength range from 1260nm to 1625nm.
The optical fiber adopts a step-index and matching cladding structure design. The core layer is composed of SiO₂ + GeO₂, and the cladding is SiO₂. It features excellent geometric dimensions and low water peak performance, and is fully compatible with the existing G.652.D optical fiber system.
