1. Product Introduction:
The Gunmetal Self Tapping Ferrule Strap for PE, PVC and AC mains pipe incorporate an integral ferrule with a self contained cutter, eliminating the need for drilling machines. It is a quick, permanent, leak free service connection. The integral cutter is designated to greatly reduce the risk of fracturing PVC pipe during the drilling procedure. Its design also decrease the chance of swarf blockage and also provides a shut off facility once the tapping has been made.

● Gunmetal: BS1400:LG2 or UNS C83600
● Connect types: Push fit
● Installation Condition: Any trench condition, wet or dry.
● General Application: PE & PVC & AC pipe
- 4. Installation Instruction:
- 1) Fit the top strap on the main, and ensuring the sealing ring is correctly positioned.
- 2) Locate the bottom strap with bolts and nuts provided. Make sure the straps sit squarely on the main.
- 3) Remove the top plug and screw down the self tapping cutter until it “bottoms” on the seat.
- 4) Wind the cutter back to allow small amount of water to go to waste to flush out any debris.
- 5) Connect the service pipe to the banjo.
- 6)Ensure the cap is tightened down on the banjo and then wind the cutter back to seal in the cap.
- 7)The connection is now made.
- 5. Service Condition:
Ferrule strap can provide years of service in any trench condition, wet or dry. Even the most aggressive soil conditions.
- 6. Safety:
It is important to take adequate safety precautions such as the use of protective clothing like gloves, overalls, eye protection and safety footwear during installation.
