From the supplier
On the snowy Tibetan Plateau, in Xigaze, Xizang Autonomous Region, a thousand-year-old traditional ethnic handicraft is preserved: the art of crafting Yade Xihé pure wool fabrics and garments.
Dating back to the Zanbu Dynasty (as early as the Tang Dynasty), this craft has been passed down through generations. After Princess Wencheng entered Xizang, she highly praised the exquisite craftsmanship, superior material selection, and intricate making of Yade Xihé, famously naming it "Yade Xihé Fine Cloth." During the prosperous period of the Kagyu Sect, locals crafted it into monastic robes to offer to esteemed religious elders. It also became a favorite among the elite, nobles, and merchants, establishing its renowned reputation across Xizang. In 1642, it was officially recognized as official court fabric with imperial seal approval.
Our business scope covers the processing and sales of: Xihé wool textiles, Xihé Tibetan costumes, scarves, shawls, Xihé-style suits, and monastic robes.
We select wool from highland sheep above 4,300 meters above sea level. Strictly adhering to time-honored handmade techniques—including impurity removal, washing, carding, rolling, and weaving—our fabrics are then dyed with natural plant extracts. The resulting cloth is smooth, soft, breathable, warm, and fade-resistant. It showcases the essence of thousands of years of ethnic handicraft culture on the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau.
