From the supplier

Cast iron teapot also known as tetsubin or cast iron tea kettle was used originally in Japan as kettle for boiling water which is done on an open fire. Japanese people then hang their tea kettle above their fireplace in order to provide enough heat, humidity and heat during cold weather.

The feature of cast iron teapot also means tetsubin teapot:

  • 1. It has a long history, also called tetsubin in Japan. It comes in various shapes with designs of animals, birds, nature scenes and calligraphy and symbolizes a culture and a history.
  • 2. It made from cast iron, professional designed, was used to boil water as well as brew tea.
  • 3. It has enamel coating on the interior to prevent rusting, with a removable stainless steel filter mesh.
  • 4. Unlike ceramic teapots, the heavy cast iron retains heat wonderfully and won’t chip. After use, the pot is best cared for when rinsed and dried by hand before storing.
  • 5. Cast iron teapots can also enhance the flavor of tea and can last forever with proper care. Many tea enthusiasts claim the tea brewed in the cast iron tetsubin teapot tastes better than tea brewed in any other type of material.
