From the supplier
Several decades ago, Africans recognized the flexibility and pliability of the ordinary fishing net along with its unique ability build up a rich lather with soap and its powerful exfoliating features.
Fast forward to the 21st century, the “African Sponge” has become the most important item used by Africans when bathing – from the eastern most parts to the western most parts of the country and in the western diaspora.
The unique nylon netting and the innovative porous design ofthe “African Sponge” allows you to work up a rich lather that – no matter what soap you use – will gently exfoliate away dead skin, leaving your whole body soft, supple and most importantly, clean.
The problem with the traditional sponge was that users either did not care or were ignorant of the often hazardous materials used in the production of the nets.
We at African Consumer Products, Inc. decided to do two things, design a product specifically for bathing that is devoid of carcinogens, dyes, BPA and other health hazards and to make the same available through e-commerce for the African diaspora.
