V2V (Vehicle to Vehicle) refers to the charging of one electric vehicle by another electric vehicle. It is also known as vehicle-to-vehicle energy transfer. Some car manufacturers promote it as a mutual assistance or mutual charging mode between vehicles. The V2V function mainly uses direct current output.
New energy vehicles with V2L function can quickly provide power replenishment assistance to stranded new energy vehicles with low battery. Currently, only a small number of models have V2V function. Additionally, V2V function needs to be used in conjunction with V2V vehicle charging connectors. For high-power V2V charging, V2V vehicle-to-vehicle chargers are required, which are similar in size to a desktop computer case and usually cost over 10,000 yuan.
V2V outputs power externally through a DC fast charging interface, following the same principle as V2L for DC discharge, but the discharge power is much greater. V2V typically ranges from 5kW to 50kW or even higher.
